I used to watch the Olympics regularly, always looked for the medal counts of countries, and marveled at how athletes who were barely into their teens had become among the best of the best. The accomplishments at such young ages still amazes me. To me, this is what always made the Olympics special; the young amateurs that defined what the Olympic spirit is about. Those wonderful folks over at the IRS are sending out the anticipated tax rebate checks earlier than originally planned. Whether it will have the impact the government is hoping for, in terms of an economic boost, remains to be seen.
