So last night I decided to go out to the local county fair with a couple of family members. Mostly planned on staying just a few hours because of the weather and being tired, but we figured we’d stick around long enough to catch some of the show by Kellie Pickler.

I’d seen her on American Idol, of course, and a few other shows recently. Before her show started, I kind of wondered if it would be a typical “Sounds great on record and terrible in person” concert, but in fact, it was great. Kellie sounded freakin’ awesome last night. Clear, in tune, and strong, and backed by a very good sounding band, her show was definitely worth seeing.

Kinda humorous that, by the end of the fifth song, she had dumped her high heels and carried on barefoot. Definite sign of a country girl, I’d say.

If she gets to your area, definitely go see her. You’ll be glad you did.

   Wow, I wish our fair would bring in bigger more current acts, but I suppose because we have a huge country music festival here in town each June they go rock, very retro rock for the fair. Thanks for the review, not everyone sounds good live.

   That’s nice to hear. I liked her on American Idol, I thought she had a sweet and natural personality.
